A dreamy documentary film about the difficult endurance of bittersweet retirement years in a supposed paradise.
The story of a separated couple at the beginning of their pension and a universal look at one of human’s key questions: What do we really want to do with our lives? The pension is ungrateful, insidious and yet so tempting. Jadranka, 66, and Sasa, 65, met and fell in love in the Canary Islands almost 35 years ago. Marriage life, Shift work and self-employment have now ended for them, and their lives have swept them back to the Spanish cliffs. Having separated, they now live as friends, but alone, on two islands, five and a half hours apart. Now they find themselves searching for friendship, love and fun. Yet very often they end up in hard work, deep boredom or in the feeling that they are no longer needed.
