"Beauty is important and rules everything" — that’s what my mother always said, and the world around her never disagreed.

I am the daughter of a German model and an actress who came to Italy in the 1980s, drawn by the promise of La Dolce Vita. Today, as a filmmaker and mother, I question that myth and confront it with the present by following Sofia, an eighteen-year-old representative of Generation Z who dreams of success in show business.

Through a weave of archival footage, observation, and self-reflection, the film traverses bodies, gazes, and desires, revealing the invisible transmission of role models between mothers and daughters. It is both a personal and collective exploration of how society shapes the image of women — and what remains beneath the surface.
